What We Collect
Vuleo collects limited data to run and improve the app:
- Pseudonymous usage statistics (which screens are visited, which features are used)
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- Crash reports to help us fix bugs
- Your email address, if you subscribe to Vuleo PRO and sign in. We use it as your account identifier. We also use it to manage your subscription and unlock PRO across your devices.
Account & Subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple or Google and managed using RevenueCat, our subscription provider. By default, your subscription is linked to RevenueCat under an anonymous identifier. By default, your email address is not shared. Your email is shared with RevenueCat only if you choose to sign in with Google to enable Google Drive sync. At that point, your email becomes your account identifier. This lets your PRO subscription work across your devices. RevenueCat also receives your purchase history (which products you bought and their status). We use your email only to manage your subscription. We never use it for marketing. RevenueCat processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
If you purchase a subscription on our website, payment is handled by Stripe. In this case, your purchase is tied to your email address. Both Stripe and Vuleo’s developer have access to that email. They have this access to process and manage your subscription. We use it only to manage your subscription. We never use it for marketing. Stripe processes your payment data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
What We Don’t Collect
We do not collect the following:
- Your name, phone number, or precise location
- Your playlist URLs or content
- Your viewing history (see “Metadata Services” below for the one thing our server does see)
Local Data & Sync
Your playlists, favorites, watch history, and settings are stored on your device. If you turn on sync, this data is backed up to your own Google Drive account. We do not have access to it.
Optional Integrations You Configure
Vuleo can connect to third-party services that you choose to set up. Examples are Trakt, Stremio-compatible add-ons, debrid providers and subtitle services. These services are disabled until you connect them. They communicate directly from your device to the service you configured. They never communicate through our servers.
- Trakt: You can connect your Trakt account. If you do, your playback progress and watched status are sent to it. This follows your settings. Vuleo’s developer never receives this data. Trakt processes it under its own privacy policy.
- Other connected services: These are add-ons, debrid providers and subtitle services. They receive only the requests needed to provide the feature. An example is a title search for subtitles. These requests are sent directly from your device, using the account or URL you supplied.
Metadata Services
Vuleo shows artwork, descriptions and ratings from TVDB and MDBList. Neither service needs any setup on your part. Both are active by default.
Your device contacts TVDB directly. Our server issues a short-lived access token. Because of this token, the API key does not have to ship inside the app. After that, the app communicates with TVDB itself. No title reaches us on this path.
Ratings can be switched off entirely with “External Ratings” in Settings. No ratings request is made after that.
Your playlist URLs, source credentials and watch history are never sent to either service.
Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat: subscription management. It receives your purchase history. It receives your email only if you sign in with Google to enable cross-device sync.
- Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions purchased on our website. It receives your email to process and manage your purchase.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google): pseudonymous usage analytics and crash reporting
- Google Drive: optional backup and sync to your own account
- Trakt: optional watch tracking and recommendations using your own account (see “Optional Integrations” above)
- TVDB: artwork, descriptions and cast, contacted directly by your device (see “Metadata Services” above)
- MDBList: ratings (see “Metadata Services” above)
Each service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
